Overview
TIBCO DataSynapse™ High-Performance Computing Cloud Adapter extends the functionality of TIBCO DataSynapse GridServer® by enabling it to create dynamically virtual machines and provision them with the Engine Daemon.
You can use DataSynapse™ High-Performance Computing Cloud Adapter (HPCCA) to increase temporarily your compute capacity during periods of unusually high load on their DataSynapse GridServer® deployment. The adapter supports 64-bit Linux and Windows Engines, and a simple cloud management algorithm. DataSynapse HPCCA is implemented as a Manager Hook for the Director component of the grid. It uses DataSynapse GridServer® APIs to react and determine current cloud compute needs. The adapter uses a standard Java properties file that defines:
-
The cloud service provider that it should interact with.
-
The critical elements of information necessary for that interaction.
When new engines are needed, the adapter spins up new virtual machines, based on an image the customer creates, configures for the current grid. This process allows the adapter to remain cloud provider-agnostic, so new cloud solutions can be implemented faster.
Cloud Providers
The following cloud providers are supported: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). In all cases, the adapter uses the Java SDK for the service provider to connect to that provider's API.
